designs by swanc
This is a list of currently viewable web sites in which I had a designing hand.
Obviously most of the clients now have free reign to tinker with the content and will more often than not put things or arrangements of things on the pages that you feel as a designer are sacrilegious profanities to the pure and beautiful intent of your original concept - but them's the breaks...
HSC-Explained.com.au
The HSC-Explained.com.au website was built to showcase the company's range of study guides and sell them as DVDs. The site represents a strong forray into e-commerce and has used the wp-ecommerce plugin to run the shpping cart facility.
The client had expressed a desire for the site to have an "apple.com" look and feel.
acharyasyoga.com.au

The acharyasyoga.com.au web site design was done as a gratis thank you to the centre I attend.
The design of the web site was intended to convey the smooth sense of calm that is so very evident in the centre and in the classes that are held there.
babybliss.com.au

The babybliss.com.au web site has was mostly constructed to complement the design of a newsletter that was especially liked by the site owner.
It is a neat design with a nice css technique that divides up the "blocks".
Femi-Literate Book Club

My second blog for a book club - anyone would thing I was some kind of high-brow smarty pants - but this time the roll-out was for a far shorter time frame - like 4 days, including domain purchase, hosting, design and configuration.
The Femi-Literati web site is "a book club for the femines" that encourages a close bunch for friends to stay enthusiastic about the books they read.
semi-Literati Book Club
A fully-fledged blog site, composed entirely on Wordpress, built on the famous Thesis Theme and featuring a host of neat little plug-ins and widgets, the Semiliteratil book club site was assembled to act as a central hub and motivational tool for the club's less committed members.
honnermedia.com.au

A smooth corporate site for a company specialising in corporate public relations, honnermedia.com.au was designed to be safe and business-like.
innercityhypnosis.com.au

Innerciyhypnosis.com.au combines the positive yellow colouring with an urban feel - not easy.
lemprieregrain.com.au

A site belonging to a grain trading company, lemprieregrain.com.au recently underwent a facelift - that actually made the site look much more slick and corporate.
The design of the web site doesn't scream "grain" but it does say "we're serious and we know what we're doing".
morris Goding Access Consulting

Tailored to match the company's print identity, the Morris Goding Accessibility Consulting web site is smooth to the point of being chocolaty.
Disability access may not be a terribly sexy subject, but this is still a web site that had to appeal to architects and builders alike.
moneyLaunderingIntelligence.com.au

A design intended to resemble the money of which it so learnedly spoke, the money laundering intelligence site (sadly now passed on) was geared at keeping the fiscal community up to speed with the changing face of global financial regulation in a post 9-11 world.
Regionale.com.au

The world of art and paintings is awash with fancy looking web sites. This project was a very gentle re-working of an existing design - based mainly on re-coding, re-titling the pages & filenames etc.
I also added the blog - and skinned it to resemble the existing structure.
Southern Cross Herbal School

Working to a very strict budget, this is an educational site that wanted to sell its herbal study courses and a few optional extras, like books and talks and remedies online.
Restriction has meant that they are doing all this through PayPal but it seems to be working for them thus-far.
theDepressionReliefClinic

Designed part in conjunction and part in opposition with an unknown other "friend" of the client. It has been an interesting project and a hard one to keep optimised as the client has gone through changing circumstances and varying degrees of ability to pay.
VulcanWheels.com

The Vulcanwheels.com web site was set up in a bit of a rush to sell a single item - the vulcan wheel. Oddly sales were never offered through the site and even though they are now available through other channels, there is still nothing but contact and dealer lists on the site.
UTS Norths

This design for a web site was for the Seniors Athletic Club of the University of Technology Sydney. Again it was passed on for financial reasons, and I think partly out of pride.
